Biography

Dr. Bergsma’s interest in podiatry stems from his personal experience as a young athlete benefiting from podiatric treatment for sports-related injuries. In addition to offering a wide range of podiatric services, he is especially passionate about sports-related care.

Dr. Bergsma is often sought-out to treat patients with sports injuries and provides preventative care for competitive athletes. He also had the unique opportunity to join other Muskegon physicians and the University of Michigan to offer free medical and surgical treatment to a young boy from Lebanon.

In addition to his education and professional experience, Dr. Bergsma is the former President of the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association Western Division and a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Additionally, he is Board-Certified in both reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery and reconstructive foot surgery.
